Zachary "Zach" Aaron Evans, 22, of Lehi, Utah passed away on October 14th, 2023, in his apartment.
Zachary came into the world just two days after 9/11 on September 13, 2001, in American Fork, Utah, as the cherished son to Barnaby Nephi and Ashly May Evans. On October 17, 2007, Zachary lost the title of "only child" when his sister Samantha Lynn Evans was born. Zach attended Lehi Elementary, Lehi Junior High, and Lehi High School. After school hours he peer-tutored at the Lehi Legacy Center and was recognized for his years of selfless service to his peers and community. Zach was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 2019 and graduated from Lehi High School in 2020 with an online virtual graduation due to the pandemic. Zach tended to gravitate towards jobs in the food service and automotive industries. He worked many jobs in both professions and had hopes of going to school to become a diesel mechanic.
Zachary was a kind and thoughtful soul who will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He lived to make people jump, scream, dance, and sometimes cringe... but most of all he loved to make people laugh. He loved to play all types of games including video, board, and card games and would usually beat whoever he was playing. Zach also loved the outdoors. He was always so excited to help build campfires, sleep outside, catch and clean fish, and devour oversized marshmallows. Zach had an artistic side as he acted in the play Annie Jr., performed for several years on the ballroom dance team, and began to learn to play guitar. Zach was obsessed with cars and became visibly excited if he was around a car that was especially loud, fast, or caught his eye.
Zachary is survived by his father and mother, Barnaby and Ashly Evans, Lehi; sister, Samantha Evans, Lehi; paternal grandparents, Nephi and Laura Evans, American Fork; maternal grandparents, Dale and Debra Calkins, Lehi.
