WInnie found joy in her family, nature and in serving others. She passed away April 17, 2017 at the age of 88 in Provo, Utah. Born August 9, 1928 in Chester, Utah the daughter of Leland David and Lillian Margaret Poulson Candland. The Candland's moved to Salt Lake City where Winnie was raised. She married James Taylor Thompson, September 19, 1949 in Las Vegas, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 15, 1950.
Jim and Winnie raised their family in American Fork. She is survived by her children: Ann (Michael) Winward; Joan (Rocky) Core; J.T. (Cinde) Thompson; Winnie (Ronald) Seamons: Jayne (Travis) Smith; Talt (Kelly) Thompson; 21 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and two siblings, Margarett Little and David Candland. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 21st Ward, 285 North 900 East. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
