William Fleming Jr.

July 10, 1975 — January 10, 2021

William John Fleming, Jr, age 45, loving Husband, Father, Uncle and friend of Lehi, Utah passed away from the corona virus on January 10, 2021. Will was born on July 10, 1975 in Lakeland, Florida, the fourth child of Joyce Ruesch Whited and Steven Lee Whited.

Will had the opportunity to move all around the US and even to Germany due to Steve’s service in the military. Will ended his childhood moves in Cumberland, Maryland and attended Fort Hill High School. Will served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro area. When he ended up getting sick while in Brazil he was switched to the Mississippi Jackson Mission. After his mission he moved to Utah and found the love of his life Alison Althea Scott Fleming. They were married on August 14, 1998 in the Las Vegas, Nevada temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they had four amazing boys: Kaleb Michael, Tyler Dominic, Derek Chandler and Logan Jeremiah. His most recent church attended was New Hope Calvary Church, and he found much peace while there.

Will was a man who worked hard, was a forward thinker and had a huge entrepreneurial spirit and always had some sort of business endeavor he was working on. He settled on working in the computer industry in his 20s and continued to progress his knowledge on his own accord and moved up in the industry quickly. He had a hunger for knowledge and wasn’t afraid to read and learn on his own. Will loved his family more than anything else on earth. He also welcomed everyone who came into his life with the best huge hugs, a listening ear, wise words to help and compassion for those who were in need. Laughter was always part of a conversation with him and you walked away feeling happier after spending time with him. He also did the best Chewbacca impression ever.

Will was good at anything he put his mind to. As a young man he tried so many different things and loved many of them. Football, soccer, tennis, swimming, band (many instruments and finally landed on percussion and he became the drum major his Senior year of high school), show choir, theater and he even worked as an EMT for the volunteer fire department while in high school. As he moved to Utah he found a love for skiing and country dancing and was amazing at both of them. His favorite thing to do more recently was to create memories with his family by taking trips to fun locations, spending time at home playing games or watching movies together and gathering around the table with one of the most delicious dinners, cooked by Will. His chef skills were beyond what anyone without formal training usually can do. He would share his talent with anyone who wanted to learn; family, friends, his boys, his daughter-in-law, and friends of his boys. Will had a heart of gold and loved to share his knowledge with anyone who was interested in learning.

He is preceded in death by his mom Joyce Ruesch Whited and his brother Joseph Bernard Fleming. He is survived by his wife Alison Althea Scott Fleming, children Kaleb Michael (Amelia) Fleming, Tyler Dominic (Dakota) Fleming, Derek Chandler Fleming and Logan Jeremiah Fleming, father Steven Lee Whited, siblings Kenneth Lance (Robin) Fleming, Rhonda Michelle Fleming, Michelle Joyce Whited, Kimberlee Jean (Bob) Dettlinger, 9 nieces and 8 nephews.
