Wilford A. Day 1943 - 2024
Wilford Alma Day, age 81, passed away November 1, 2024 at his home in Sacramento, CA.
He was born March 13, 1943 in the Lehi Hospital in Utah to Ruby Buhler and O. Wayne Day, Sr.
Wilford grew up in Highland, UT with his eleven siblings as the second oldest. He served an LDS Mission to the Western States Mission from 1962 to1964. He married Kathy Ann Yeager September 10, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple (divorced 1991). He married Karen Bowns February 13, 1999 in the Mount Timpanogos UT Temple. Wilford served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1989 and then worked for the Civil Service until 2008 when he retired. He loved playing chess, working on/and fixing broken machinery, reading, serving others, and going to the Temple.
Willford is survived by his wife, Karen, and his children Amron (Leslie); Leeman (Marjean); Nathaniel (Valerie); Shane (Jennifer); Melanie (Jon) Roberts; Kenra (Shaun) Gill; Carolani (Mathew) Green; Karen's children Dania (Quin) Smith; Keely Dorran; his siblings Orville, Karen Carbajal, Paul, Clark, Ruth Huish, Joy Ruff, Lynn, and Eugene; 27 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his daughter Amla, Karen's daughter Brianna, his brother Ivan and sisters Bonnie and Jewel.
The California funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 2745 Eastern Avenue, Sacramento, CA.
The Utah funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11 am (viewing at 10 am) in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Day Meadows Chapel at 6050 W. Chapel Drive in Highland, UT. Interment after the funeral in Highland UT, in the American Fork Cemetery.
