Vonetta Fackrell

With heavy hearts and joyful memories, we celebrate the life of Vonetta Maurine Hardman Fackrell, who left us peacefully on December 22, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on July 12, 1926, in Sterling, Alberta, Canada to Parley and Lyndell Hardman. Married the love of her life David Max Fackrell on May 26, 1944.

Vonetta was not just our mother, grandmother, and friend; she was the heart and soul of our family. A proud homemaker, she found joy in the everyday. Whether she was sewing, making delicious chocolates, or bottling fresh fruit, her hands were always busy with love. Her creativity and dedication extended to spoiling her children and grandchildren, ensuring that each one felt special in her eyes.

Her lively spirit, peppered with a dash of sass and a penchant for playful pranks, kept everyone on their toes and brought laughter to our lives. Vonetta loved her weekly hair and nail appointments, where she would emerge looking fabulous and feeling confident. Family was everything to her; she shared a deep bond with her siblings, relishing the times they spent together during reunions filled with storytelling and laughter.

She is survived by her children: Brent (Loraine) Fackrell, Pam (Ralph) Grider, Sue Barlow, Sharon (Brian) Chipman, Marilio (Elizabeth) Ortega and daughter-in-law Marla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children Diana, David and Lori Ann and a granddaughter, Cami Pectol.

In her honor, we invite friends and family to gather and celebrate her life. A public viewing will take place at the Highland Stake Center, 9626 North 6800 West , Highland, on January 2, 2025, from 9:45-10:45 AM, followed by a funeral service that will begin at 11:00 AM.

As we say goodbye, we know Vonetta would want us to remember the joy she brought to our lives and to keep her spirit alive through laughter, love, and a little bit of mischief. We love you, Vonetta, and we will carry your vibrant spirit with us always.
