Virginia Small Richan, 85, of American Fork, Utah passed away at home surrounded by her children September 9, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 16, 1931 in American Fork the daughter of Owen K and Alice Welsh Small. She married Carl Richan July 3, 1953 in American Fork, Utah and he preceded her in death January 26, 1976. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Hawaii LDS Temple February 3, 1990.
Virginia worked for Utah Valley Regional Medical center as a records clerk for 19 years. She was known around town for her love of her little red 1962 Chevy Impala which she drove for 50 years. She loved gardening and canning her own grown food. She loved nature and spending time with her family especially with her son 4 wheeling.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn (Lon) Anderson; Janet (Randall Honey; Delene (Robert) Brimhall; Raymond Carl Richan; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and two brothers, Robert and George K Small. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a grandson.
Services will be held Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 11:00 am in the American Fork Cemetery, 600 North Center Street. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 am at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork.
