Our sweet mother and grandmother Vaunda Stone Box passed away June 21, 2019 in American Fork, Utah at the age of 94. She was born October 2, 1924 in Salem, Utah to Ammon Oliver and Roycie Sheffield Stone. On November 10, 1943 she married Darwin Box in the Salt Lake Temple. She grew up in Salem on the family farm. Her mother taught her to play the piano and to work hard. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and seminary in 1942. She went on to graduate from LDS Business College. She worked at the Alpine School District Office and at Brigham Young University as an Executive Secretary.
Mom always had a twinkle in her eye and time to give good advice to her family. She found great joy in her children and grandchildren. She kept cards, pictures and letters sent by them to her over the years.
She was an avid reader and bridge player. She spent hours knitting afghans for her family. She loved to travel. Mom and Dad traveled through the United States, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and Europe. They also loved to camp in the desert and ride their dirt bikes. She loved to cook and bake. Her Sunday pot roast is the best.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darwin and one grandson Jordan Reynolds. She is survived by 3 children: Ronald (Marva) Box, Nancy (John) Reynolds and Maryann (Daniel) Draney, 14 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Beehive House in American Fork for her care.
