Tony Lloyd Gurney, a devoted family man, passed away at the age of 62 in Murray, UT. Born July 4, 1962 to Brent Lloyd and Betty Gurney, Tony was cherished for his unwavering work ethic and his deep commitment to his family, his Savior Jesus Christ, and his positive outlook every day.
Growing up in Lehi, Tony developed a passion for hard work and a love of The Gospel of Jesus Christ at a young age. This passion became the cornerstone of his life's work and a legacy he shared generously with his loved ones. He was always willing to help anyone and was often found serving others. Tony was known not only for his attitude of service but also for his willingness to impart his knowledge and wisdom to others, especially his sons, whom he guided with patience and pride.
Tony married the love of his life, Kellie Rae Cook, on October 13, 1983 in The Salt Lake City Temple. Throughout their marriage, they relocated to various states for work opportunities. Tony had much success and received many awards. Though work took them to many different places, Utah was always home.
Outside of his work, Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his beloved wife Kellie - whom he cherished dearly - and their four boys. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and the fruits of Tony's labor. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was camping trips with his family, boating, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cheering on his favorite sports teams (BYU), or playing games and sharing stories around the dinner table.
Tony was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Tony served a mission in St. Louis Missouri from October 1981 - April 1983. He had many callings throughout his life and found joy in serving in any capacity that was asked of him. Most recently Tony served every Wednesday as the shift coordinator in the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple, as well as serving in the nursery on Sundays. He found incredible joy and pride serving with Kellie.
Tony's passing leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends, but his legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be remembered for his strong values, his warm-hearted nature, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Kellie Rae Cook, his sons Trevor (Chelsea) Gurney, Braden (Gemma) Gurney, Parker (Alexandria) Gurney, Mckay (Jessica) Gurney.
