Susan was blessed with a beautiful crystal-clear soprano voice which she used to inspire people at church services and at civic events throughout her life. One of her favorite songs was “Mary’s Lullaby”.
She was an avid reader. Her favorite book was The Book of Mormon, followed by Agatha Christie’s mystery novels and plays. She was curious and loved to travel and study different cultures. Susan was a talented quilter, interior decorator, cook and gardener. She brought beauty, goodness, joy, and laughter into the lives of all who knew her.
She served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially enjoyed being with the youth and supporting her husband in his many leadership callings. Susan and Bob were called to four senior missions. They were in India, the West Indies, the Santa Barbara Institute of Religion, and in Denver, Colorado to assist those with various addictions.
Susan lived for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by focusing on loving and serving them and living a Christ-like life. Through the years, she suffered serious health issues as well as other challenges of mortality. Her faith never wavered as she completely trusted in the Lord (and in His timetable) for His comfort, peace, guidance, healing, and eventually, for the timing of her death.
