Sheila Winifred Kelly Hansen, 82, of Lehi, Utah passed away January 14, 2020. Born November 17, 1937 in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of John Christian Kelly, a veteran of the Great War, and Mary Queenie Cartman Kelly. Sheila was a Registered Nurse and began her career as an officer in the Air Force Nursing Corps the very same day she became an American citizen. To volunteer to serve this nation during the Vietnam War shows her love for this country and she was always so proud of her service to this nation. She also loved to entertain and have people in her home for grand dinner parties, even for foreign dignitaries while stationed in Mons, Belgium. One of her favorite hobbies and talents was arranging flowers and she learned the Japanese style of arranging known as Ikebana while living in Japan. In her later years Sheila’s greatest love was her adoring husband Alfred and her new extended Hansen family. She loved all of her grandchildren as she watched them grow into adults and that love then extended to her great grandchildren and beyond. She married her true love Alfred Ingemann Hansen April 24, 1987 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Survivors include her son Tom (Leora) Abell, and her step children, Jens (Susan) Hansen, Doris Warner, and Lyla Gull, 20 Grandchildren, 51 great-Grandchildren, and 2 great-great-Grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 24th at 2 pm at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Please share a memory or condolence.
