Shauna Rae Wilde died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on July 19th, 2018 after a battle withcancer. She was 67.
Shauna was born June 24th, 1951 in Logan, UT to Merlin & Carol Sampson. She graduated from BYU and Sonoma State University with a degree in education. On June 21, 1975, she married Mark Haehl in the Provo Temple. Together they had 4 wonderful children, who were her pride and joy. She and Mark spent their early years raising their family in Cloverdale, California and later moved to Alpine, Utah. They spent 37 wonderful years together before Mark passed away suddenly in 2012. Shauna later married Elmon (Andy) Wilde, who was a very special companion and a loving caretaker.
Shauna had many special gifts and talents. She was an avid reader, and organized many book clubs over the years. She enjoyed learning and growing, and enjoyed sharing her love of reading with others, especially her children. She had a passion for writing, and wrote a witty editorial column for a local publication for years. Shauna was engaged in many good causes over the years. She loved teaching and spent a short time teaching school outside the home. Shauna hiked every week, and held dear the times she spent hiking and talking with a few very close friends. Together with both Mark and later Andy, Shauna found joy in serving at the LDS conference center and in the Sacramento Temple, where she made many friends. She served in many church callings and was a true example of Christlike love and service.
Shauna was passionate about things she loved and would often share her excitement about a new chocolate she found, or a Costco product that she discovered. None of these passions were as beloved to her as her children and grandchildren. Shauna was an incredibly unselfish mother, grandmother and wife. She will be missed more than words can say.
Shauna is survived by her husband, Elmon (Andy) Wilde, children Carrie Reeder, Greg (Mindi) Haehl; Jaci (Matt) Moore; Carl (Melanie) Haehl and 7 step-children. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren & 32 step-grandchildren. She is survived by 8 siblings. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Haehl and parents Carol and Merlin Sampson.
