Shane Strode
August 3, 1969 - December 9, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce that Shane Strode, 52, passed away at St George Hospital on December 9, 2021. After battling cancer and becoming ill with pneumonia. Shane was born in American Fork, Utah. Shane met his wife, Kimberly Nelson, in American Fork and were married April 4, 1991, celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Shane was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Shane worked as a heavy equipment mechanic his whole life and became a master at his trade. Shane was loved by so many and will truly be missed.

Early on in his life he would be found spending time with his Grandpa Leroy Webster, they would go shooting and chucker hunting. Shane loved being with his grandpa and this is where he would find his love for the outdoors, shooting, and hunting. Shane grew up in Lehi living with his mother Pamela Strode, and father Richard Strode. Shane spent a lot of time in his youth with the Webster family. A loving and proud father, Shane would tell his kids about how much they all meant to him. He had so many stories with all his cousins and aunts and uncles from the Webster family. Shane also spent a lot of time in his youth with his friends and brothers. He moved out of the house at a young age and was taken under the wing of one of his role models Rex. He would then start his career as an auto mechanic and learned a lot from Rex. He worked at Rex's Diesel in Lehi, Utah and would get the experience to continue his career. He would spend a lot of time with his friends and would travel back and forth from Utah to Las Vegas were his father Monte, lived. He loved going to Lake Powell with the Phelps family. One of Shane's favorite places to be is lake Powell and the love for the lake lasted his lifetime. After he met Kimberly, he became really close to his father-in-law, John, who also took Shane in under his wing and cared for Shane like his own. John owned a glass business and Shane worked there with him for years. They would install automotive glass and residential glass. After that Shane spent around fourteen years working for a company called M&R Equipment. There he would repair and diagnose heavy equipment. Shane loved the outdoors. Kimberly's parents John and Molly, have a ranch up Springville Canyon and he spent a lot of free time up there working and helping on the ranch. It was a place he could go to spend time with family and get away from the busy week at work. Shane also loved hunting and fishing and rarely missed the deer or elk hunt. He loved to go camping with his family and see nature and just enjoy being outdoors. He would take us to the Uinta's every year and out west of Utah multiple times a year. Shane loved dirt bikes, snowmobiles and atvs. He would go riding with his friends early on in his life and after he had kids would then teach his kids how to ride and gain love for the sport. Shane was a master mechanic and could fix anything with an engine, whether it be electrical, gas, diesel, or propane. Not only was he a mechanic he was a man of all trades and could do and figure anything he put his mind to.
