Russell Kenneth Elswick, 72, passed away June 23, 2016 in Provo, Utah. Born April 2, 1944 in Ventura, California to David Franklin Elswick and Alma Claudia Oliver. He married Carolin June Holmes on May 17, 1969 and was sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Russell was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. He was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a young man and remained faithful and active all his life. Russell loved missionary work and speaking to people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was deeply patriotic, having a great love for his country. Russell had a great sense of humor and loved to serve other people. He was a guitar player and a singer/songwriter and always had a great love for music, which he instilled in his children. Throughout his life he had a deep love for and reliance on his Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Carolin, his children: Russell (Amanda) Elswick, Justin Elswick, Aaron (Marlo) Elswick, Shannon (Branden) Walton, Crystal (Jordan) Mateer, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a brother, Steven Elswick. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father, William Davis.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.in the Springcreek 15th Ward Building (LDS Chapel) located at 760 North 400 East, Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
