Rosemarie Schmidt Chipman, age 84, graduated from this earthly life on September 16, 2021 due to cancer. Rosemarie was born August 7, 1937 to Henry Fred and Jennie May Schmidt. She is the oldest of 6 children. On June 23, 1959 she married her eternal companion, Stephen “Mack” Chipman, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with 8 children.
Rosemarie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many different callings and served in every auxiliary. Her favorite calling was the one she was in at the time. She developed a great love of music starting with the violin at the age of 8. She enjoyed gardening and thrived on being self-sufficient. Her garden was often the envy of many.
She is survived by her children Alan Chipman, Brian (Sharon) Chipman, Calvin (Tisha) Chipman, Darin (Kristin) Chipman, Elaine (John) Watson, Francine (Todd) Carter, Gaylyn Worthington, Heidi (Casey) Mitchell, 29 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings: David (Donna) Schmidt, Maralyn (Richard) Dotson, Richard (Jo) Schmidt, Virginia (Bob) Baird, Howard (Mary) Schmidt, Sister-in-law Helen Chipman Hatch and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter-in-law, Tammy Sweat-Chipman and grandson, Ty Sweat.
Funeral will be Friday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harbor Wards Building, 600 S 100 W, American Fork. Viewing will be Thursday, September 23, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, September 24, 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the same location.
Masks are encouraged. Seating will be limited at the funeral. Please feel free to join us through Zoom.
