Roger F Tracy

Roger Frederick Tracy, aged 91, passed away the 15th of April 2025 in Highland, Utah. Roger was born in Flint, Michigan to Namon and Alphild Tracy on the 30th of December 1933. While returning from BYU for his Father's funeral in 1953, Roger first met Nancy Jensen. After serving in the Spanish American Mission from January 1954 until July 1956, Roger entered service in the Air Force. Roger and Nancy were sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple on July 24, 1957. Completing his service with the Air Force in 1960, Roger and Nancy returned to BYU where they both worked hard to help him earn a bachelor and a master degree of accountancy. In 1964 following school, Roger took his family to Southern California working as an accountant and controller. Roger moved his family to Highland, Utah in June 1977. Following Nancy's death in 1986, Roger remarried on June 14, 1991 to Renee Bearss. Renee passed away in 2009. After residing in Highland for 42 years, in June 2019, Roger moved to American Fork. Roger returned to Highland as a resident at Highland Glen in June 2022. It was here that he peacefully passed away from Alzheimer's Disease.

Roger served his community as the first treasurer for the City of Highland, the first controller for the City of Highland and also on the city Council from 1988 to 1992. Professionally he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for South Davis Credit Union.

Roger's favorite service was as a father and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was dedicated and faithful while serving others and did so in many church callings. His favorite was serving in the Mt. Timpanogos temple with Renee. He was an ordinance worker for 23 years. During this time he also served at the Genealogical Library on BYU campus and at the Motion Picture Studios at BYU. His dedication was demonstrated by rarely if ever missing his home teaching families. Roger enjoyed performing genealogical research.

Roger will be missed for the way he reached out to others and his playful teasing manner. He will be remembered for his dedication to family, community, and faith. His life was a testament to hard work, concern for others, and service. Many were touched by knowing him.

He is survived by his children: Alexis Coleman, Nanette (Jim) Ockler, Scott (Tammy) Tracy, Stuart (Joette) Tracy, Chantel (Scott) Jensen, Monnae (Brian) Markham, Sean (Becka) Tracy, Jenae Boyer, and the Bearss children: Tiffany (Carey) Moore, Gretchen (Owen) Nuttall, David (Tawnya) Bearss, Becky (Steven) Buhler, Natalie (Tory) Brooks, Jared (Cecily) Bearss along with 68 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two beloved wives, Nancy Doris Jensen Tracy and Renee Betty Snead Tracy, as well as siblings Johnny, Alice, Don, Stewart, Ethel, Clint, Charlie, and Jim.

A public viewing will be held at the American Fork Central Stake Center, 320 N. 100 E. American Fork, UT on April 21, 2025, at 9:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. All who knew Roger are invited to attend and celebrate the life of this memorable man. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the Highland City Cemetery at 6200 West 11000 North, Highland, UT.
