Robert Louis Hillier passed away on Saturday September 14, 2019 in American Fork, UT. He was born in Ogden, Utah April 24, 1922 to Fredrick Hillier and Ruth Imo Carter. Robert was 97 years old at his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his six siblings.
Robert spent his early family years in New Jersey, graduating from Woodbridge High School. He moved to Utah to pursue his education at Brigham Young University, which was interrupted by military service in WW II. Returning to his schooling he graduated from Brigham Young University in 1947 with a degree in Geology.
Robert married his sweetheart, Beth Ann Allen, as a New York City war bride just prior to deployment and then in the Manti Temple on November 23, 1945. Together they raised a family of three boys: Paul Allen, Robert Bruce and Richard Louis. They have 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Robert and Beth Ann served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for ten years, a service mission in the Salt Lake Liberty Stake for 3 years and a Senior Couple Mission in New Zealand. Robert was a happy and generous individual and was loved greatly by his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 19, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Hillcrest 1st Ward, 949 North 540 West, American Fork. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary located at 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and on Thursday at the church from 9:45 – 10:45 am prior to the services.
