Rita Fields

Rita Bernice Fields, 73, passed away on October 22, 2022, in Saratoga Springs, UT.


Rita was born on November 29, 1948 in Cardston, Alberta to Reed Pitcher and Bernice Leishman Pitcher.


Rita married Roger Fields September 5, 1967 in the Cardston Alberta Temple for time and all eternity. Together they raised a family based on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rita loved her family and her faith. She loved serving others and served in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rita especially loved attending and cheering on her children, and later on, her grandchildren at sporting events, art competitions, and plays. She enjoyed knitting hats and she gave hundreds of them to her family, friends and a local soup kitchen. Always a lover of sweets, Rita was an avid supporter of dessert before dinner! Horsefly, B.C. was the perfect place on earth for Rita to raise a family! She used nature to teach her children strong values, problem solving skills, and the the ability to care for themselves & others. Rita taught many by her example to work hard, give service, and love the Lord!


Rita is survived by her children Laura (Owen) Hirschi, Sharon (Bruce) Bowers, Tamarya Decker, Brian (Jody) Fields, Tina (Michael) Adams, Roger "Keith" Fields, Teresa (Aaron) Mendenhall, Kevin Fields, Steven Fields, Rita "Charlene" Fields, Andrew Fields, 36 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Doug Pitcher, Ladene (Lloyd) Reidhead, Arthur (Corrine) Pitcher, Ramona (Ernie) Fairburn, Susan (Neil) Wilkinson, Grant (Janele) Pitcher, Darin (Teresa) Pitcher; brother-in-laws Ernie Loewen & George Gwilliam.


Rita is preceded in death by her eternal companion, Roger Fields; son Todd Warren; her beloved parents Grant Reed Pitcher and Bernice Leishman Pitcher; sisters Janet Loewen & Marlayne Gwilliam, sister in law Helen Pitcher; and a granddaughter Elizabeth Fields.


The service for Rita Fields will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 AM at the Talus Ridge 1st Ward, 612 West Pony Express Parkway, Saratoga Springs, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:45-10:45 AM.
