Richard C. Amari, 85, passed away on January 15, 2021. He was born in Queens, NY to Henrietta Hochenberger and Samuel Rosario Amari. He married Elizabeth Ann Phelan and had three children: Eileen Amari-Vaught (Wayne Vaught), Diane Amari (Andy Kolojejcheck) and Martin Amari (Suzanne).
Richard served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and received his B.S from Pratt Institute as a Mechanical Engineer. He retired from Con Edison in New York, New York.
Richard played the trumpet and loved playing chess, doing woodworking projects, building electronic devices, building models, being outdoors and watching the N.Y. Yankees and K.C. Royals play baseball.
Survived by his wife Elizabeth, three children, four grandchildren (Mia, Lauren, Addison and Brayden), sister, Loretta Young (John) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother (Lorenzo) and 2 sisters (Marion Haggerty and Caroline Fox) and also two beloved Golden Retrievers. Throughout his life, he resided in New York (Queens and Long Island), Pennsylvania, Kansas and Utah.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11 am at Anderson and Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland, Utah 84003 and will be live streamed via Zoom for those unable to attend. Inurnment will take place at Highland City Cemetery following the memorial service.
