Ralph Larsen

February 1, 1930 — September 2, 2024

Ralph Leo Larsen, 94, of Provo, Utah passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born February 1, 1930, in Provo, Utah the son of Clarence Christian Larsen and Thelma Davis Larsen. He married the love of his life, Blanche Gardner, on July 2, 1953, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on March 15, 1972. Blanche, his wife of 68 years, preceded him in death on October 14, 2021. 

Ralph's biggest joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His other joys in life included fishing, farming, camping, and traveling to his good friends, the Brockbank's, gold mine in Montana. Ralph had a reputation for his creative woodworking skills and is famous for building the pulpit that is still in use in the primary room of the LDS ward he attended. His children and grandchildren continue to cherish the many wooden bowls, toy cars, piggy banks, furniture, and many other items he crafted. He knew the value of hard work and provided for his family by working at Geneva Steel for over 37 years as a millwright in the Open Hearth. 

He is survived by his children: Ranae Spencer, Ronald E. Larsen, Clair M (Patricia) Larsen, Carolyn (Richard) Trowbridge, Mary Harmon, Shirlene K Larsen, Deanna Elaine (Kevin) Alger, Paul (Jill) Larsen, 33 grandchildren 64 great grandchildren, and a brother Dave (Sandy) Holliman. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, son-in-law, Terry Harmon, grandsons, Matthew, Scott, Mark, great-granddaughter Claire, and great-grandson Charlie. 

A viewing will be held Friday, September 6th from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday, September 7th from 10 to 11:00 am at the Lakeside 7th Ward, 620 North 2225 West Provo. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at 11:30 am in the Provo City Cemetery (610 South State Street).
