Pamela Kay Wells Nielson, 79, of Lehi, Utah, passed away January 18, 2024, at home. Pam was born on October 22, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Allen Thorn Wells and Enid Zimmerman Wells. She was the third of four children. At the time of her birth, the family lived in Layton, Utah, but moved shortly thereafter to Lehi, Utah, where she would spend the rest of her childhood. When she was 11 years old, her family bought the Arctic Circle in Lehi, and her mother took charge of running the restaurant. Pam worked at the Arctic Circle until she was 14, when her mother passed away.
In June of 1962, she married Frank Harold Cook in Lehi, Utah; they later divorced. Following the divorce, she worked at Mildred & Sons clothing store in Provo, until they closed in 1973. It was around that time that she met Jack Nielson. On October 10, 1973, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, she married Roger Jack Nielson. Then, on May 15, 1981, Pam and Jack were sealed to be an eternal family in the Salt Lake Temple. Throughout their marriage, Pam was actively involved in helping run Fakler Tires in American Fork until Jack’s retirement and transfer of the store to their son, Damon.
Pam loved outdoor activities with her family, especially camping and boating. She was an avid bowler and was a member of an American Fork league. She was a caring and loving grandmother to the grandchildren. Pam was always the life of the party.
She is survived by her children, Kellie (Tony) Gurney, Jerry (Lisa) Cook, Ryan (Tammy) Cook, Damon (Michelle) Nielson, Tori (Rich) Wilson, Lynn Johnson, David (Magda) Nielson, Regina (Vic) Hall, and Jarad (Cyndi) Nielson; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; as well as her three brothers, Brent Wells, Kent (Janet) Wells, and Jim (Diane) Wells.
