Nancy Jane Ott, age 65, passed away on September 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born January 11, 1959, to Dee and Margaret Johnson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised on a farm in Tooele, Utah, with her 4 siblings Dennis Johnson (deceased), Carolyn Seaton (deceased), Don Johnson, and Janelle Wells (deceased). Nancy went to Tooele high school and was an enthusiastic member of the All-American Tooele High School Buffalo cheerleading team.
After graduating high school, she attended Utah State University. Nancy chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1980-81. She faithfully served the people of the Dallas, Texas Mission, spending much of her time in Lubbock, Texas. Nancy had a very successful career in the navigational aid and defense industry; she started working for E-Systems in 1983 and worked in the same industry, in the same building, until 2024.
Nancy met her husband, Jeff, at a singles ward in Salt Lake City, Utah; they married September 15, 1984. Together they raised three children, Jennifer, Candice, and Dallin. She was a loving mother. Her children were always her priority, and she loved them dearly. She was lovingly known as "Fancy Nancy". She enjoyed gardening, traveling with her family, shopping, and chatting with all her friends and neighbors. Nancy was an excellent cook; she shared her talents with all who would eat and loved trying new recipes. Her journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. Nancy's unwavering positive mental attitude and spirit in the face of cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her husband Jeffrey Ott, her children Jennifer Ott, Candice Devedzic (Benjamin Devedzic), Dallin Ott (Alyssa Ott), and her beloved grandchildren, Callin Keller, Camron Keller, MaKell Keller, Izabel Devedzic, Brooks Ott, Jackson Devedzic, and Cassidy Ott; her grandchildren will always remember their Nana.
Nancy will be remembered for kindness, compassion, amazing cooking, and the positive impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 4, 2024. A closed casket viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at 5335 West 11200 North Highland, Utah 84003. Interment at Highland City Cemetery.
