Nancy Kathryn Miller Cowley, 82, passed away on October 24, 2022, in American Fork, Utah, of natural causes.
Nancy was born on December 10, 1939, in Springville, Utah. to Joe and May Miller.
Nancy was raised in Springville surrounded by family and friends. She graduated from Springville High School. After graduation she attended Brigham Young University. During her marriage she was blessed with two adopted children, Susan and Tom. Nancy raised her family in Los Angeles, California. She lived in Los Angeles, until she returned to Utah after her children were raised.
A dancer as a child and young woman, Nancy loved the fine arts. She went on to major in Art History in College. She enjoyed the ballet, plays, museums and movies, taking and sometimes dragging her two children along with her. Nancy was a true homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for her children and their friends. Her home was always welcoming and full of neighborhood children.
A life long and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Nancy had a deep love and devotion for her Savior Jesus Christ. Nancy served in numerous callings throughout her life including a service mission where she taught reading. She enjoyed family history and was an avid journal writer. Nancy was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Nancy is survived by her two children Susan Pendleton and Tom Cowley, along with their spouses, William and Marybeth. Five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, two siblings, John Miller and Sherie Christensen. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11:00 am, 1305 North 100 East, American Fork, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am. Internment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
