Myra Ann "Mickie" Bean Lewis passed away peacefully on 9/20/2024 in the Beehive Home in Provo, UT, surrounded by all five of her daughters.
Mickie was born on May 18 1939, in American Fork, UT. She was adopted as a new born baby by the lucky parents Milo (Mike) and Elma Bean. She was the joy and love of their life. Mickie loved learning to cook, bake and being in the garden with her father. She loved learning to sew from her mother and was always the best dressed kid at school due to the many beautiful things her mother would sew for her and all of her grand children. Mickie graduated from American Fork High School in 1957, where she was actively involved in many school activities and was very popular.
Mickie was always joyful, happy and had a great sense of humor. She loved to travel, loved making jewelry, loved fashion, tole painting, and many other arts and crafts. She thoroughly enjoyed being around family which was the most important thing in her life. She also loved being involved in the community. She has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Mickie also loved her roses, hummingbirds, owls and especially Elvis Presley... She would say, " what a hunk-a hunk-of burning love"! She was a wonderful cook and loved to dance, so often you would see her dancing in the kitchen as she lovingly prepared meals for her family.
Mickey married Roger Taylor in 1957. They had three beautiful daughters, Jan, Sharlyn, and MarNae. They were later divorced. Mickie married Kenneth J. Lewis in 1970. They had two beautiful daughters, Megan and Aimee. Ken had four wonderful sons that also joined the family, Vaughn, Mark, Robert, and Ronald. Mickie and Ken were married for 45 years until Ken's passing on 11/30/2015. Mickie and Ken owned a bead store, Born Again Beads, in University Mall for many years. There, they made many beautiful pieces of jewelry and most importantly made many lifelong friends along the way. All who knew Mickie loved her due to her sparkling and outgoing personality. Mickie was a strong and determined woman. She survived breast cancer and later struggled with dementia until her passing.
Mickie was preceded in death by her parents Milo and Elma Bean, her husband, Kenneth J. Lewis, her stepson Vaughn Lewis, along with many other family members that anxiously awaited her return home.
Mickey is survived by many loving family members, her five daughters, Jan (Rob) Read, Shar (Ray) Morton, Marnae Taylor, Megan Lewis & Aimee Lewis. Her step son's Mark (Sherrie) Lewis, Ronald (Diane) Lewis, Robert (Janet) Lewis, Bonnie Lewis surviving spouse of (Vaughn Lewis). Mickie had 29 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren who all adored her as their Grandma. She had such a beautiful life and will be greatly missed!
