Montie Williams

Montie Williams passed away in November 2023, happy to join friends and family on the other side.

He would want to emphasize how much he appreciated the gracious love and caring of his children, who selflessly reached out to help him through this time. He would also want to express his love for family and friends who brought such fulfillment to his life.

He will be immediately seeking a guitar to play, a motorcycle to ride, and anyone who wants a new friend! Mont has an innate ability to help the rest of us feel good about who we are and to appreciate and enjoy our lives.

He grew up in Idaho and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montana. Through all his life he enjoyed teaching this gospel to others and further studying its principles.

Another great ability of Mont’s is to forge ahead when he wants to accomplish something. He enjoyed running a welding and fabrication business. Many metal buildings dot our valleys that he built and erected. His major love, however, was singing in country bands. He does not know how much we all have benefited from the wonderful music he has produced and the love we feel when we listen to him sing. Something about his voice makes your heart feel happy and your soul seem lifted.

Mont married Judy Brown and adores their two children, Wendy (Craig) Winberg and Rick (Annetta).

Four daughters came with his second marriage to Juanita Hymas Thompson: Vauna (Michael) Davis, Christina (Phillip) Nash, Darcy, and Amber (Douglas) Burrell. Throughout his life he expressed what a wonderful gift they have also been to him.

Later, Trina (Andrew) Limpert, Michael (Marita), Justin (Tori), and Misty (Clinton) Dumas were born and brought him even deeper joy. The gift of these wonderful people and their partners has been his delight.

He has also been given the love of 61 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Mont was born to Agnes and Herbert Williams, who taught their eleven children strong eternal values. Janet, Jay, Steve, Mark, Susan, Jeannie, Louise, and Laurie are still here. He tremendously enjoyed their association and conversations.

His siblings, Deonna and Jim have preceded him; along with his daughter, Darcy and his grandsons, Brayden and Hayden. He will look forward to family dinners with them once again.
