Bruce Michael "Mike" Pritchett, 76, passed away October 26, 2017 in Provo, UT. Born November 3, 1940 in American Fork, Utah to Melrose Jed Pritchett and Lois Watson Pritchett. He married Patricia Louise Sunderland on June 19, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Salt Lake City, UT.
Michael was a Professor of Managerial Economics at BYU for 33 years. He loved his family and spending time with them. He was Intermountain States Drag Racing Champion ca. 1959 and participated on the American Fork High School basketball and football teams, and he also ran track, and was the Outstanding Male Graduate. He played on the BYU football team until injured, and was elected to the Sophomore Senate. He received his B.S. from BYU in Economics, and earned his Ph.D from in Economics Purdue University.
He also loved waterskiing, motorcycles, and many summers in Maui, Hawaii. He went on a mission to the Southern States, where he was Assistant to the President with President Lyman. He served the LDS church in many callings: Stake High Council, Edgemont 14th ward bishopric, and young adult ward bishopric. Most of all he had a real knack for doing nice things for people and making friends.
He is survived by his wife Patricia; Bruce (Kim) Pritchett; Laura (Buddy) Blankenfeld; Steven (Brooke) Pritchett, and six grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Connie (Stan) King. Preceded in death by his brother, Melrose Jed "Jackie" Prichett, Jr.
