Michael Hamblin

Michael Trevor Hamblin, 27, passed away in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on October 1, 2015. Born November 17, 1987 in Fremont, California to Michael Dru and Patricia Platt Hamblin.
Trevor had a heart of gold, his father who passed away 7 years ago had this to say about him: "Trevor pushes himself and his boundaries even if he is scared of the unknown, he is a great brother and always watches over his family, he has a unique off the wall sense of humor, he meets his challenges head on and thrives on being the underdog in a fight, one day his great love and passion for others will be revealed". His mother wrote this: "Trevor has a good personality and is a loyal friend, he is very smart, sometimes too smart for his own good, he is a hard worker and knows how to organize and clean well. Trevor is persistent and works to get what he wants (he never stops till it's done). Trevor is so talented in everything he does and is focused, has a special spirit and knows the scriptures well and is a good example".
He loved playing football, basketball, track and coaching his brothers. He received his medical assisting degree before graduating from Lone Peak. Before he passed away, he was working at Children's Care Hospital as a caretaker for the mentally disabled. He could always put a smile on anyone's face whether he knew you or not. He could often be found talking with strangers, finding out their stories, helping them and making the world a better place one person at a time. He was an avid reader and had a passion for continuous growth, spiritual and otherwise. He had a quirky sense of humor, was loved by all who knew him and had a contagious laugh and smile. All who knew him will sorely miss him. He missed his father very much and it brings us comfort to know that he is with his father again. We will miss his bright shining eyes, cute dimples and loving greetings. Trevor we love you and will always miss you until we meet again.
He is survived by his mother Patricia, brothers Chase (Amanda), Justin, Dyllan, and Byllie, grandparents, Mike & Christy Hamblin, Paula Platt and Lyman Platt, uncles Juan (Alexandra), Bruce (Aurelie), David, Danny (Diana), Don Carlos (deceased), Johnny, Lyman (Melanie), Aunts Julie, Maria Elena (Nate), Debbie (Rick), Nicolle (Trent), Natalia (Travis), and Holly Hamblin. He is preceded in death by his father Michael Dru, Uncle Don Carlos, grandparents Bill and Joye Payne, Aunt Jetta, Great Grandma Lazo and Great Grandpa & Grandma Platt.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 11:00 a.m. at Highland East Stake Center (4679 West 11000 North, Highland). Viewings will be Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel (6141 West 11000 North, Highland) and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. prior to service at the Stake Center. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery.
