In Loving Memory of McKoy Shane Rawlings

McKoy Shane Rawlings, our son always, brother, and friend left this world far too soon at the age of 25. He peacefully passed away on May 13, 2023, due to ingesting cocaine laced with deadly fentanyl.

Born on January 15, 1998 in Salt Lake City, UT.  McKoy's love for his family knew no bounds. He shared a special bond with his two sisters, London (age 22) and Eva (age 14), and his brother, Sawyer (age 19). Together, they created cherished memories filled with laughter, adventure, and love without limitations. McKoy's siblings were his best friends and his greatest source of love and happiness.

Shane and Tiffaney Rawlings, McKoy's adoring parents, provided him with a nurturing and loving environment in which to grow and thrive. Their unconditional love allowed McKoy to build a bridge to anywhere he wanted to go.  Because McKoy was fully loved by his parents he excelled to the highest levels in everything he did.  He didn’t care about material possessions, and rather chose to focus his life on building relationships and helping others. In life and death McKoy is a gift, and has chosen to be an organ donor.

As McKoy transitions into the next phase of his journey, he leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of his family and friends. His dry sense of humor, warm smile, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all. He possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with others, make them feel seen and valued, and find the good in everyone.

As we navigate the pain of McKoy's absence, let us stand tall in his light and love.  Each day is our moment, right here right now.  We only have where we are now so let us live in the wonder and gratitude of life and death.

A memorial service to celebrate McKoy's life will be held on Monday May 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM the Alpine North Stake Center located at 1125 N. Alpine Blvd. Alpine, UT 84004. A visitation will be held from 9:45-10:45 AM at the church. Flowers may be sent to Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah 84003.
