Matthew Humes

April 30, 1981 — February 28, 2019

Matthew James Humes, 37, passed away February 28, 2019 in Lehi, Utah.  He was born April 30, 1981 in Provo, Utah to James Ross and Sheri Wolsey Humes.  Matt married Heidi Newman Humes on March 13 in 2015, but have been together for over 10 years

Matt was always considerate and helpful. He loved spending time with his wife Heidi and their four kids. He would do anything for his family and he loved them dearly. Matt always made sure everyone was having a good time and laughing. He had the privilege of growing up in a blended family and loved all of his siblings. He was the oldest of four brothers who were always his partners in crime, who loved to pick on their sister. Matt never had a dull moment with his pipefitter family. Thank you to his brothers for always having his back in all aspects of life, after he could no longer work.

Matt was a huge fan of BYU and the 49ers, but his favorite color was still red. He enjoyed playing basketball, and would always brag about how much higher he could jump than anyone else. Matt made friends with everyone and had many that he considered to be brothers and sisters. Matt was loved by many, and will be missed by all. A great void is in all of our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi, his children:  Cadence, Madison Gould, Easton and Victoria, his father James Ross and stepmother Michelle, his father and mother-in-law John and Geneal Newman, his siblings Angie Peterson, Seth Sawls, Dustin Humes, and Shay Sawls, his grandparents, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his mother and 2 sisters Christina and Sarah.

A viewing will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 2-4 PM at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork.  Following the services there will be a get together at Heidi's parents home at 5pm, 710 Ridge Crest Court, Alpine.  Please share your memories at andersonmortuary.com.
