Marriner Mitchell, 91, of American Fork passed away December 18, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born June 13, 1924 in American Fork, Utah the son of Leland Richard and Oma Elvira Hansen Mitchell. He married Joyce Bell on September 1, 1948 in American Fork and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 9, 1955.
Marriner loved sports and coached at many levels for over 40 years. He was the owner of Mitchell orchards. He was a devoted father and family man he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings during his lifetime.
Survivors include his children M. Lew ( Connie) Mitchell; Peggy (Rick) Newman; Leland Mitchell; Jeffrey L. (Suzette) Mitchell; Judy (Alfy) Blaney; 14 grandchildren 42 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild and his sister Anna Mae Prestwich. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, his granddaughter and 3 sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orchard Hills Ward, 949 North 540 West, Am. Fork. A viewing will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery. Dad we love you and you will be greatly missed.
