Lois Grattan

September 12, 1933 — May 22, 2018

Lois Lillie Hall Grattan died May 22, 2018 in Lehi, Utah surrounded by many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was born September 12, 1933 in Long Island, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Mae DeHut Hall.  Lois married Walter Roy Grattan on November 22, 1952 in Salem, Oregon, solemnizing their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 23, 1961. They were married for 65 years.   She is survived by six children, Debra (Dwayne) Scott; Denise (Robert) Hemingway; David (Donna) Grattan; Dana (Larry) Asay; Darcy (Fred) Kirkpatrick; Daniel (Pamela) Grattan; 40 grandchildren, over 80 great grandchildren, and her brother, Charles Hall.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and her sister, Opal Harvey.
After moving all over the country for several years, while her husband served in the Air Force, they settled in Ridgecrest, California where they continued to raise their family.  They lived in Ridgecrest for over fifty years. Lois was the consummate homemaker, beloved of her children.  She and her husband served a temple mission together for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Los Angeles Temple as well as a genealogy mission in Salt Lake City.
Lois was always looking for ways to serve those around her.  Being with and serving her children and grandchildren brought her great joy.  She helped raise two children from the Indian Placement Program. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making blankets for her children and grandchildren.  She was a great cook, always making sure her family was well fed.  Lois was adored by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
