Larry Marx

Larry Alonzo Marx, 85, of St. George, Utah passed away May 2, 2023 in St. George, Utah. Born April 1,
1938 in Gilman, Colorado the son of Lonzo Clinton Marx and Sylvia Myrtle Peacher. He married Barbara
Jean Vasquez December 8, 1987.

Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved being outdoors. Camping in his 5th-wheel trailer was
a passion as well. He loved to read about history, especially church history. He loved Gunsmoke and
other westerns. Larry’s greatest love was his wife, family and his dogs. In fact, anyone would count
themselves lucky to be treated as well as Larry treated his dogs. He constantly looked for fun ways to
bring the family together. From vacations to dinners out, Larry never missed an opportunity to create
memories with those he loved. He will be remembered by those who knew him as being very generous.
That word is such an understatement when it came to how Larry shared his love to everyone around
him. His kindness to all he met was the hallmark of this amazing man’s life. He was simply a great man
down to his core.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, children, Kay (Brad) Hewitt, Scott (Dawna) Marx, Corey (Suanne)
Marx, Susan (Barry) Phillips, Sandy Vander Wilt, Natalie (Shawn) Roach, 29 grandchildren, 31 great
grandchildren with more on the way, his brother Hal (Christine) Marx, and many beloved dogs. He is
preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Peggy Leavitt.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Highland 9 th Ward, 11162
North Alpine Highway. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services.
Burial in the Highland city cemetery.
