Larry Reese Madsen, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away, Sunday, September 26, 2021, from Parkinson’s disease in Lehi Utah, with is family by his side. He was 77 years old. He was born August 28, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Reese Myrlin Madsen and Faye DeVon Deveraux. He married Carol Jean Lee August 10, 1963, in Salt Lake City. He then graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah. Larry has left a great legacy of love and family. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor, notably being quick-witted, and loved to laugh. He loved scouting, family vacations with the entire family, and riding his Harley Trike. He was a hard worker and entrepreneur. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along with his wife, he served two missions, Texas Houston East and Utah Provo Missionary Training Center and served as a temple ordinance worker.
Larry is survived by his wife Carol; his children, Michael (Cheryl) Madsen, Diana (Jeff) Lauder, Julie (Jeff) Boone, Larriann (Doug) McGowan, Mark (Mary) Madsen; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and his two brothers, Merlin and Jimmie Madsen. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Elaine Clausen and Darlene Madsen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi 33rd Ward, 650 East 3200 North Lehi, Utah, where a viewing will be held that morning from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. His burial will be in the Memorial Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, 1640 Lakeview Dr, Bountiful, UT 84010. Please share a memory on his tribute wall.
