LaDean Carmen Cole Fowler went to her eternal home on Thursday, June 25, 2020 peacefully in her sleep. LaDean was born October 30, 1930 in Downey, Idaho. The second of seven children of Robert Cutler Cole and Carmen Catherine Naef Cole of Arimo, Idaho. LaDean grew up in Marsh Valley, Idaho and attended Marsh Valley high School in Arimo, Idaho. She enjoyed her young life on the family ranch with her brothers and sisters, Arlene, Lois, Wayne, Donna, Ronald and Alice. The family worked hard on the ranch. LaDean married Jay Norberg 1958. In 1974 she married Grant J Gunderson. In 1988 she married Willard E Johnson. They have proceeded her in death. She married Donald Walter Fowler February 5, 2005. They were sealed for eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple on April 4, 2007. Donald passed on 2 March 2019.
LaDean did not have children of her own but she was a wonderful aunt to an enormous number of nieces and nephews. Many of them called her their second mother. She did well in school at the schools in Arimo, Idaho. She went onto college at BYU for a year becoming a secretary. She worked in the business field at Patrick’s Dry Good’s Store in Salt Lake City, Utah (a wholesale fabric warehouse outlet), Jackson Hole, Wyoming Outlaw Pizza Shop with her sister Lois, Church Welfare Services, and Shilo Hotels in Idaho Falls, Idaho. LaDean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Illinois Chicago mission February 26, 1977 to August 26, 1978.
One of her passions was genealogy. She also enjoyed photography and won awards for her photographs. LaDean is survived by her sister Alice Voss and her brother Ronald Cole; and innumerable nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Arlene Cole, Lois Johnson and Donna Burke and brother, Wayne Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary in American Fork, Utah. Family will meet with friends during a viewing from 9:45am to 10:45am at the Funeral Home. Only immediate family should come to the funeral service.
