Our beautiful wife and mother Kristin Stewart Malm, 54, passed away on April 1, 2023, in Highland, Utah after a seven plus year battle with cancer. Kristin was born on September 13, 1968 in Torrance, California to William Devon Stewart and Ruth Marie Stewart. She graduated from Poway High School before graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Kristin married Douglas L. Malm on September 22, 2001 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah.
She had a passion for the ocean and would jump at any chance to go but loved spending time on any body of water. She loved to boat, wakeboard, ski and fish as much as possible. She even liked the frozen kind of water if she could play in it, such as snow skiing, tubing, etc.... She loved to run. There was no better high or feeling for her. She always exercised and enjoyed eating as well, especially Mexican food. Singing, acting and music played a large role in her life. She always sang in the morning and could remember all kinds of lyrics. She enjoyed listening to music, and was fond of country music in particular. We went to every country concert we could.
She was the sunshine that lightened a room and always had such positive energy that it was contagious to everyone around. Even when life was tough she was always looking for the good and loved to cheer everyone else up. Those who had the privilege of knowing her could feel the joy and love she freely gave to everyone she would meet. She had a way of making everyone feel important and loved.
She was always looking for fun experiences and often tempted Doug to leave work for a fun new adventure. She had more energy and enthusiasm then all combined. There was no stopping her even when it was time to sleep. Her greatest joy was her children; she loved the time she spent with them. She would do anything to help them succeed and she was their best friend and confidant. They were her priority, her love and joy.
She loves the Lord Jesus Christ and his Gospel. She always strived to serve others and loved children. She felt most comfortable around the youth and could relate so easily to them. She has been able to share her testimony of Gods Plan to so many in countless ways. Her faith has made her so strong and has only become more solid as she endured these past years of difficulty. She never complained and always had a smile to share. She has shown her children the purpose of life and how to live it to its fullest.
Kristin is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Malm; children, Braden, Mackenzie (Josh) Pope, Cassidy, Mandi, and Sydney; mother, Ruth Marie Stewart; mother-in-law, Doris Malm; stepmother, Kathryn Stewart; siblings, Nanette, Steven, David (Kristen), and Jeffrey.
