Kim Arthur Forbes, 68, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 30, 2023. Kim was born March 10, 1955, in American Fork, Utah, to William Homer Forbes and Maxine Hazel Richins Forbes. Kim grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1973. Kim married Lyssa Loader on May 4, 1990, in Provo, Utah.
Kim worked at Rick's Auto as a mechanic before he was hired at Layton Construction as a concrete Forman. Kim worked for Layton for 17 years until a motorcycle accident in 2009 made it so he could not work to his full potential and had to retire in 2010.
Kim loved to watch old movies, most of all, old western movies. You could always find an old western on the TV any time you stopped by. Kim was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, shooting, old cars, and motorcycles; but his greatest joy was spending time with his children, most of all his grandsons. His face would light up whenever one of the grandkids walked in the door.
Kim is survived by his wife, Lyssa; children, Andrea (Wyatt) Peterson, Paul (Shalayne) Hunziker; 5 grandsons; and his brother, Dan Forbes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Maxine; brothers, Shane and Paul; and his sister, Kathleen Forbes.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aids of Utah Home and Hospice for their loving care in his last days.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, at 12 noon in the Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North Highland, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location Friday from 10:45 to 11:45 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the Alpine City Cemetery.
