Keith Smith

Keith C. Smith, 84, of American Fork, passed away at his home, peacefully surrounded by his family on June 11, 2015. Born September 26, 1930 in American Fork, UT to Oliver Clyde and Florence Jeppson Smith. He married Sherma Lu Smith on December 31, 1956 in Las Vegas, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 6, 1968.
Keith worked for Geneva Steel as a heavy equipment operator for over 35 years. After his retirement, he was employed by Bratt Landscaping and the Alpine School District. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in two bishoprics and various other leadership callings. He was dedicated to serving those around him. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, participating in various activities including hunting, fishing, and skiing. His greatest love was spending time with his family, and he was a devoted spectator to the athletic events of his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Sherma, children: Martin (Jennifer) Smith; Michael (Danette) Smith; Matthew Smith; Suzanne Motor; 9 grandchildren, and a brother Kale Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Valerie, his sister Grace Bradford, and brother Merlin Smith. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pacific Drive 2nd Ward, 700 North 507 West, Am. Fork. A viewing will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Am. Fork and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
