Kathryn Stoddard Johnson born on February 27, 1940 to William Lowell and Alene Olson Stoddard. She was called home on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the age of 75.
Although Alzheimer's took her from us all too soon, we will forever remember her wit, her love and concern for those around her, and her desire to help guide those in crisis to a better life. She played many roles successfully, and served those who would let her. In her role as therapist, she was able to help so many. In her role as Mother and Wife, she never gave up, and was a great comfort to her children and husband, always ready to hug, offer loving advice, or even just to listen when needed. Even though she has left us for now, her influence will be felt for generations to come.
She is survived by husband, David Vell Johnson, and children Stephen Stoddard Ward, David
Stoddard Ward, Daniel Stoddard Ward, Laura Lee Ward Campbell, Cynthia Ward Black, Michelle Lynette Samples, Karen Ann Johnson, and Gordon David Johnson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the Spring Creek 3rd Ward, 651 East 1630 South, Lehi. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Saturday at the Spring Creek 3rd Ward from 8:00-8:45 a.m. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
"On Silent Wings" by Lauri Campbell
I don't want to think
I don't want to feel
When I close my eyes
It doesn't seem real.
She can't be gone
I need her still
Some will tell me
"It's just God's will."
My mother was taken away
And I can't believe it's true
It was a long time in coming
Now what am I supposed to do?
She wasn't young, it must be said
Nor was she as old as she could have been…
On silent wings she was taken
On silent wings she flew away...
