Kathy Mitchell Bills
Kathryn Joyce Mitchell Bills, 89, passed away December 26, 2022, in Provo, Utah after living a long, full life. She was born January 9, 1933, in Provo, Utah, the daughter of John Simeon Mitchell and Kate Ellison.
She married James Kirk Bills on March 27, 1952, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They lived in Salt Lake City, and American Fork, Utah. Upon moving to American Fork, Kirk and Kathy owned and operated ServiceMaster of Utah County for 30 years. Kirk passed away in 1999. Kathy married Kay Lee Crabtree in 2000 and lived in Cardston, Alberta, Canada and St. George, Utah. She was very happy to add two sons and two daughters, their spouses and twelve grandchildren to her family when she married Kay. Kay passed in 2019.
Kathy was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served everywhere she lived. Among her many callings, she served as Young Women’s leader and Stake Relief Society President. She served a Church mission with Kirk in Nauvoo, Ill. and then in Winter Quarters, Wy. with Kay.
She found much joy in her friends and family. She loved playing cards and games. She especially loved to travel. Kathy was a historian at heart and documented her many travels, achievements, and missions in volumes of scrapbooks.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Kirk; her second husband, Kay; her brother, Earl; her sister, Marilyn; and her brother, Alan. She is survived by her children: Jim (Ann) Bills, Vicky (John) Capua, and Becky (Jeff) Sanderson.
