Karen Ann Long Roberts, age 72, passed away March 29, 2015 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with cancer, in American Fork. Born July 9, 1942 in Palmyra, Utah to Donald Wayne and Ruth Ann Stewart Long. She married her sweetheart Kent Stanley Roberts March 28, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Karen was a faithful servant of the Lord, served in many church callings and she took great joy as a temple worker for 15 years in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. She loved to learn of and discuss the scriptures and loved her Savior. She opened her home to many others over the years and showed love to all. She was very giving and was always thinking of others. She was very adventurous and enjoyed traveling. She supported her husband's dream to become a commercial fisherman in Alaska and she spent many summers in Alaska with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family and friends before her own.
She is survived by her husband, Kent, her 4 daughters and 2 sons: Dana (Dan) Frandsen, Lesa (Rusty) Hall, Jena (Jason) Wood, Tara (Lynn) Ethington, Michael (Barbara) Allison, Brad (Rebecca) Roberts, 30 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sister Cathy (Kent) Lowe, sister, Susan Garfield, brother Dee (Diana) Long. Preceded in death by a brother Dennis Long.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harbor 3rd Ward, 600 South 100 West, American Fork. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
