Joyce Ritchie Allison

Joyce Ritchie Allison peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family on November 18, 2024. Joyce was born on December 8, 1940 to Alwene and Wilson Ritchie, and grew up in American Fork, Utah. She married her devoted husband Bob Allison on July 1, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple and spent 64 years together.

For over five decades, Joyce shared her passion for music as a piano teacher, impacting countless individuals with the gift of music. Joyce was happiest when spending time with her family and enjoyed serving in numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She particularly enjoyed her time as a chapel organist in the Provo Temple and during the dedication of the Mount Timpanogos Temple.

Joyce was also actively involved in the community and always looked for ways to serve others. She spent many years at the Utah State Senate, working in various positions during the legislative sessions.

Joyce is survived by her devoted husband Bob and their children: Bruce (Vickie) Allison, Colleen (Mike) Wall, Gordon (Steph) Allison, JaNeane (Brent) Jacobson, and Jeff (Mark Linnell) Allison. She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to twelve. Joyce is also survived by her sister Sharlene Russon and brother Jay Ritchie. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kent Ritchie and sister Wilma Neilson.

A viewing will be held at the Harbor 1st Ward, located at 600 South 100 West, American Fork on Friday, November 22, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, November 23, from 9:45 - 10:45 AM, leading up to the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment services will take place at the Lehi, Utah Cemetery.
