Joseph Solomon

1927 – 2019

Joseph Solomon, 91, was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 2, 1927.  Joseph passed away peacefully in the company of family on January 30, 2019 due to complications of old age.  Son of Jack Solomon and Sally Polansky, Joseph was a Brooklynite through and through and had many stories about his beloved Brooklyn.  Joseph worked for 42 years at S&P Drug Company, later McKesson.  It was there he met his wife of 36 years, Mildred.  Joseph was Jewish by birth but converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the young age of 82.  He spent the next 9 years serving wherever he could for The Church and was a serious and dedicated Home Teacher.  His greatest loves of his life were his family and sports, not always in that order.  Joseph moved, kicking and screaming to Utah in 2008 to be closer to his family.

Joseph was pre-deceased by his wife Mildred (1998), and his son William (2005).  Joseph is survived by his daughter Deborah Alverson (Jim), her children, John Stucko and Nicholas Stucko, and her stepsons Trevor Alverson and Isaiah Alverson. Also survived by his son Lawrence Solomon (Jeanett) and their 4 children, Jennifer Smith (Phillip), Jacqueline Nelson (Joseph), Matthew Solomon (Morgan) and Jeffrey Solomon.  Joseph also had 4 great grandchildren.
