Jordan Ricks Hanks

October 16, 1991 — March 30, 2025

Alpine

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we gather to celebrate the life of Jordan Nicole Ricks Hanks—a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend—who graced our world with her warm smile, vibrant spirit, and boundless love. Born on October 16, 1991, in Upland, California, Jordan passed away on March 30, 2025, at 6:24 p.m., surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous 4½-year battle with cancer, she peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father at the age of 33.
Jordan leaves behind her beautiful, nearly 4-year-old son, Micah Hanks, who was the light of her life. She is survived by her parents, John and Nicole Ricks, and her siblings: Julia (Davin) Guinn, Riley (Francesca) Ricks, and Emma (Caleb) Shelton. She is also survived by her grandparents Henry & Colette Taylor and Diane Ricks, along with countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends—too many to name, but each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Jordan moved to Alpine, Utah, with her family when she was in the 9th grade and graduated from Lone Peak High School. She was a gifted athlete who played on the school tennis team, winning numerous tournaments and awards. She also had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the school’s chamber choir, sharing her talent with joy and passion. She went on to earn her degree from Brigham Young University, after which she began working at doTERRA in Pleasant Grove, Utah. For 10 years, Jordan worked closely with Dr. Hill, traveling the world to teach aromatherapy and support international teams across Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. Even during the most difficult stages of her illness, Jordan continued to live life fully—channeling her energy into home renovation projects. Demo days became a therapeutic outlet for her; she was never afraid to pick up a hammer and get to work.Jordan had a zest for life that was truly infectious. Whether she was traveling to new places, on the tennis court, immersed in a crochet project, or simply soaking in the music of a Broadway musical, her enthusiasm was undeniable. Her quiet moments were often spent with a good book in hand or enjoying time with her son watching Disney movies—cherished memories that will live on forever.

Jordan was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various callings, including in the Young Women’s program and as a Relief Society President. She led a life of service, constantly looking for those who needed to be loved and lifted. She lived a Christlike life—full of compassion, sacrifice, and unwavering strength. To know Jordan was to feel seen, valued, and loved. Her smile lit up rooms, her heart embraced everyone she met, and her example will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
