Jolene Marchbanks

July 9, 1954 — June 21, 2022

Our dear wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Jolene Christensen Marchbanks, peacefully left this world on June 21, 2022, after battling and beating cancer twice. Jolene was born July 9th 1954, she was the 5th child of Lowell Christensen and LaVera Leetham Christensen. Jolene had a childhood that dreams are made from. She learned to love animals, grow plants, quilt, and craft. She loved canning season and would bottle anything she could. She met Stephen Marchbanks, and after realizing that he wasn't too serious for her they were sealed February 20, 1976 in the Manti, Utah temple.

She worked as an aircraft records specialist and loved her work families at Rocky Mountain Helicopters, FAA, Million Air, Jet Blue and Guardian Flight, but Jolene's favorite job of all was to dote on her ten grandchildren. Her greatest treasures in life were her family and she devoted her life to them; whether that was through blood or friendship. Anyone who met her felt they were her favorite, and she opened her home to anyone who needed a family or place to stay. She dedicated her life to serving others; from making blankets, quilts, and afghan's, to taking treats to get to know people better. She loved her sneaky service, and loved those little elves that would help her.

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served valiantly in her church service her whole life. She served in many capacities, from Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. She always had a special place in her heart for girl's camp and especially Mia Shalom. She taught us all what Christlike love is supposed to be, and poured her heart into everything she did. Jolene was always smiling and laughing. She had a rule that there is no crying at Grandma's, and she did everything in her power to keep us all smiling. She loved playing games and is the reigning champion of Five Crowns, Pinochle, and Spite and Malice. She loved a good water fight and practical jokes. There was always laughter at Grandma's house.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Elmer Marchbanks, her children Jenny Wilberg (Bart), Chris Marchbanks (Jill), Steve Marchbanks (Kelley), Amy Janes (Mark) and her ten and a half grandchildren, her two brothers: Leon, and Vern, and three sisters: Linda, Nadine, and Carol, and her mother-in-law Jeannine Marchbanks. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and LaVera Christensen, her oldest sister Barbra Ann, and her father-in-law Reid Marchbanks.
