Joel Woods

It is with heavy hearts yet fond memories that we celebrate the remarkable life of Joel Henry Woods. Joel passed peacefully at home, hand in hand with the love of his life, after an evening surrounded by his loved ones on January 29, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on March 5, 1954, in Canton, New York to Harold and Virginia Woods. He married Lola Jean Hathcock on June 24, 1978 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Joel embraced life with an unparalleled passion and a spirit that will be dearly missed.

Joel was not just a hard-working Superintendent in the construction industry; he was a true lover of the outdoors. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was hunting in the crisp air, casting a line into a quiet lake, or hitting the open road on his motorcycle. His enthusiasm for these pastimes reflected his adventurous soul and zest for life.

A proud veteran of the Army, Joel served until his discharge as a Specialist Four on March 14, 1978. His dedication to service set the tone for his work ethic and character, which he carried into every aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, a loving father and adored grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lola, his children: Dustin Joel (Talysa) Woods, Jessi Shantel Woods, 2 grandchildren Peyton & Ava Woods, his sister Sharon Morrison, his brother Douglas Woods. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Barbara Kervella, Teresa Steen, Don Woods, Bill Woods, Harold Jr., and Fred Woods.

Joel's graveside Service will be held at American Fork Cemetery, 600 North Center Street, American Fork on February 14, 2025 at 11:00AM.

As we gather to remember Joel, we will carry his spirit with us, honoring his love for adventure and his unwavering kindness. Ride on, Joel, we'll miss you dearly, but your memory will ride alongside us always.
