Joan Nolene Redmond Kaylor, 86, passed away on May 20, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born July 26, 1929 to Lloyd Munson Redmond and Charlotte Elizabeth Chase in Santa Ana, California. She married Kenneth Kay Kaylor April 22, 1950 in Los Angeles and was later sealed in the Los Angeles temple. They were married for 54 years until Ken's death in 2004. In 2009, she married James O. Henrie, who passed away in April, 2016.
Joan was a devoted and loving spouse, mother and grandmother. She was a positive, engaged and attentive friend to many, always willing to serve others. She was an excellent teacher, serving for many years in seminary and Relief Society. She enjoyed singing in the choir, and was a talented musician, playing both violin and cello in community orchestras.
She was dedicated to a healthy life style, and was extremely active her entire life. Recently, she was able to outdo her young grandchildren at Disneyland. She was an amazing grandmother, and was highly invested in supporting each child to reach their potential. She enjoyed museum outings, outdoor activities, and preparing wonderful, healthy meals for her family.
Joan is survived by her children: Kristin Kaylor Richardson, Wendy (David) Patton, Brian (Kim) Kaylor, Lonna Cordon, David (Rebekah) Kaylor; her cousin, Johnette Eilert; 25 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Lloyd Brent Redmond.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS church, 650 E. 3200 N, Lehi, Utah. A closed casket visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in the Acacia Cemetery in Bothell, Washington.
