Joan Bean

Joan Beagley Bean, our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born to Lewis C. Beagley and Aiden Lunt in Nephi on June 29, 1930. She was the eldest of six children. She married Kenneth Bean and later divorced. 

She was raised in Nephi and Richfield, then moved to American Fork in December of 1956. She worked for Mountain Bell (later AT&T) for 30 years and retired in 1983 at the age of 53 years old. She enjoyed her family, gardening, and traveling. She visited many places with friend's and family. For many years, she selflessly cared for her parents, ensuring their comfort and well-being until the very end of their lives. Her strength, patience, and devotion were truly remarkable. She managed caregiving with grace and compassion.

She is survived by her son Bruce (Robin), grandson Adam (Victoria), two step grandchildren, Candy, Tracy and their children. Her great grandson Henry and great granddaughter Amelia. One Sister, Beverly Beagley Mattson. Brothers, Stephen (Mary) Beagley, Dennis (Julie) Beagley and many beloved nieces and nephews, with many friends that checked on her multiple times each week. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers David and Robert Beagley, granddaughter Sara, step grandson Bobby and brother-in-law John Mattson. We would also like to thank the staff at Grove Creek Assisted Living in Pleasant Grove.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at the American Fork 9th Ward at 673 East 300 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will follow in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
