James Royal Griffin, known to many of his friends as “Fish”, 35, passed away October, 12, 2019. He was born June 1, 1984 in Ogden, Utah to James Brett and Shauna Page Griffin. He attended school in Roy, Utah and Boise Idaho graduating From Timberline High school (Boise) where he loved playing on the football and basketball teams lettering in both. He was an eagle scout. He married Cindi Brown in 2004, together they have two daughters, Emma and Kailee, they were later divorced.
James was always curious and mechanically minded. He loved cars and spent many hours learning about and working on them. He enjoyed serving people especially if he could fix someone’s car or anything mechanical. Even if he didn’t know how he would figure it out. He was currently employed at Jake’s Automotive in Pleasant Grove where he had worked as an auto mechanic for a number of years.
Fish was a friend to everyone and was loved by many friends. He gave 100% of himself even if it left him with nothing. He loved the outdoors spending many weekends camping, fishing and hiking with his family and friends. Most of all James loved spending time with his family, especially his three daughters. James enjoyed playing games and hanging out and teasing with his brother and sisters. He was especially fond of marathon sessions playing board games or video games challenging each other.
James is survived by his three daughters: Emma, Kailee, and Alice, his parents, his brother Travis Griffin, and his sisters Charmaine Griffin, Natalie (Braxton) Dutson and Aubrey Estrada, three Grandparents, many uncles, aunts and cousins, one niece and two nephews Caydice, Colby and Cai. James is preceded in death by His Grandfather, Seth Griffin, two cousins Andrew Draper and Marshal McKamey and uncle, Randy Chadwick.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 AM in Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 AM prior to the services. Please share a memory.
