Jakob Weldon Toon

Jakob Weldon Toon, 22, passed away on December 1, 2022, in Highland, Utah.  He was born on June 13, 2000, in Mesa, Arizona to Bill and Jennifer Toon.

Jakob is survived by his parents and siblings Aubrey, Will and Jacksen.  He will be joining his sister Lauren in heaven and waiting for their family to join them.

Sports were a central part of Jakob’s life.  To help control his energy he started playing tackle football at the age of 5 in Canton, Georgia.  Even though soft spoken and an introvert, Jakob had high football IQ and was a beast as a linebacker on defense.  Jakob loved basketball as well, always trying to mirror James Harden with his left-handed drives to the basket and lock down defense with turnovers being his number one goal.

Hanging out with his siblings and friends, eating anything, being outdoors in the mountains, driving loud sport cars, working out at the gym, gaming with cousins, and having chill days would describe Jakob if he wasn’t working on his hardwood flooring business.

Jakob will be deeply missed by so many for his contagious smile and always ending his phone calls and visits with a simple “I love you”.  He worked hard and everyone wanted to be around the guy who would always have his family and friends back.

The funeral service for Jakob will be held on Friday, December 9^th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church located at 6411 W 11800 N, Highland, UT, 84003.  He will be buried immediately afterwards at the Highland City Cemetery. 

Two viewings will be available; one held Thursday night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson and Sons Mortuary Lone Peak location at 6141 W 11000 N, Highland, UT 84003.  There will also be a viewing prior to the funeral service from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM.
