Obituary
Jacob Daniel Duncan
December 12, 1983 to January 17, 2024
Jacob Daniel Duncan, age 40, passed away at home on January 17, 2024, succumbing to complications related to a congenital heart defect. Jacob was born on December 12, 1983, in American Fork, Utah to Douglas Ray Duncan and Mary Jane Seitzinger Duncan. He was the third of three children.
Jacob was a kind soul who loved people. He would strike up conversations with complete strangers and always had a smile and a hello for everyone. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews and would spend hours playing games, watching movies, and just “hanging out” whenever they came to visit. He was always quick to share and to offer help to friends, family, and strangers alike.
After graduating from Lone Peak Highschool with the class of 2002, Jacob worked for several years as a bagger and stocker at Kohler’s grocery store in Highland – a good fit for his caring and helpful personality. Later, he spent several years living with and assisting his maternal grandmother, Alice, as she aged and her health declined. Her friends and neighbors would often remark on his kindhearted and helpful presence in the neighborhood.
Jacob is survived by his father Douglas (Sherry) Duncan, and his siblings Jeremiah (Teresa) Duncan, Emma Duncan, and Banks (Brianna) Woodward. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Jane who passed away when he was six. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents: Wendell and Gayle Duncan, Alice and Merl Seitzinger, Orville Funk, and R. Earl “Pap” and Thelma Murphy.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Highland Utah 31st Ward, 5335 West 11200 North, Highland, Utah. There will also be a viewing Tuesday, January 23, at the Anderson and Sons Lone Peak Chapel at 6141 West 11000 North (SR 93) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
