Tonight in my room, when I couldn't sleep
I left my warm bed and out I did creep.
The soft breeze was cool, the stars twinkled bright,
I stood on your doorstep at twelve in the night.
I stood there in silence and let the clock spin,
I just longed to stand there,
To be where you'd been.
I stayed there for hours, sweet thoughts filled my head,
Then I walked from your doorstep and went back to bed.
My mind is at peace, the stars are now dim,
I just longed to stand there to be where you'd been. - LM.
